Parenting Through a Pandemic – Special Edition
Mental Health and the COVID-19 Pandemic
KSCS, the Kahnawa:ke Education Center, and McGill University are collaborating to offer a special virtual parent information session to Kahnawakehro:non.
Stress can be the aftermath of COVID-19, as such, anxiety is very much a normal emotional reaction to current events surrounding the pandemic.
However, stress does not necessarily affect all children or adults in the same way. Some people are more reactive to stress and, more importantly, may react more negatively than others to the stress resulting from much of the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19.
Dr. Tina Montreuil will walk us through the signs to look out for, offer tips for coping, and take your questions.
- When: Thursday, September 24, 2020 (postponed from an earlier date)
- Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM
- Where: KSCS via ZOOM (you will need a valid email to participate)
To register for this session or for more information email Alana Atwin.
Dr. Tina Montreuil is an assistant professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology and an associate member of the Department of Psychiatry.
