Community members are invited to join us as we mark International Elders Abuse Awareness Day today. This initiative is spearheaded by Home and Community Care Services under the name.
Iethi’nikòn:rare ne thotí:iens / Looking out for Our Elders
We will be in the lobby of the Services Building from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM and will be handing out purple ribbons, the symbol of older adult mistreatment. We will be asking people to fill out a survey to guage the awareness of older adult mistreatment in the community. Everyone who fills out a survey will be entered to win a small patio set.of a small table and two chairs. Only people who fill out the survey on this date will be eligible.
Then, we invite the community to join us at Turtle Bay Elders Lodge from 4:00 – 7:00 PM for a BBQ and social. Food will be offered while supplies last and everyone is welcome to come join the elders on this special day.
