Emergency Food Basket Transitions To Recovery Phase

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

EMERGENCY FOOD BASKET TRANSITIONS TO RECOVERY PHASE

(Kahnawake – June 14, 2021) The Emergency Food Basket announced today that they are planning to transfer responsibility of the service back to the Orville Standup Memorial (OSM) Food Basket, due to the planned end of the state of emergency in Kahnawà:ke.  During the recovery phase, the Emergency Food Basket will be phased out and the Orville Standup Memorial Food Basket will resume services as a volunteer-run, donations-based operation.

The final Emergency Food Basket deliveries will take place in August 2021, however families in need will not be left without support. The OSM Food Basket will continue to offer monthly baskets consisting of nonperishable items (boxes only), to recipients who re-apply during this transition period. Before the final delivery in August, families who wish to continue receiving a food basket must re-apply with the OSM Food Basket, which will resume in September. To apply, please contact: Emergency Food Services Intake at 450-632-6880.

The Emergency/Orville Standup Memorial Food Basket Team wishes you all a safe and happy return to a new normal.
