As you are aware Kahnawake Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services (KSCS) has suspending all non-essential services for 2 weeks this past Friday, March 13, 2020.

BELOW IS THE LIST OF SUSPENDED ACTIVITIES AND THE LIST ESSENTIAL SERVICES AVAILABLE

Assisted Living Services

Scheduled Workshops/Groups

  • The Science of Tradition- Cultural Paths to Wellness with Dawn Martin Hill  on March 17th
  • Onkwehón:we Ways of Knowing & Rites of Passage with Dawn Martin Hill & Makasa Looking Horse on March 18th
  • Trauma Sensitive Yoga
  • (Tuesday morning at Lotus & Sage) – cancelled for 2 weeks (Jean will contact members through messenger)
  • The Journey Home
  • (Tuesday evening at FWC) – cancelled for 2 weeks.  Alana Kane will contact members on behalf of Amanda (vacation) and Jean (home)

Please note:

All visitors arriving to our facilities will be screened before given access to enter. KSCS Reception services will be making all efforts to contact community members by telephone prior to their appointments.  Community Members who were not contacted are encouraged to contact KSCS prior to arriving for there appointments.

 

Homecare

  • Medication assistance

  • Delivery of Meals on Wheels, and preparing meals.

Assisted Living Services

  • In-home support “case workers”

Please note that the Walk-In Counselling offered every Monday evening will be available during the regular hours of 5:00-8:00

In an effort to support community emergency response efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 virus, while maintaining appropriate response time Kahnawake Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services (KSCS) is asking all new intakes to be performed over the telephone.  Walk in are not encouraged because of the additional time it will take for KSCS to perform the screening process.

  • After Hours Response Services

“Accessible in the evenings, weekends and holidays by calling the Peacekeepers and asking to speak with the After Hours Response Worker”

  • Life After Loss with Natalie Segall (Thursday evenings at FWC) – cancelled for 2 weeks (Natalie will be postponing these 2 sessions for now but if the protocol is extended, we will need to look at another plan/arrangement).  Natalie will contact members of the group to inform them.
