KSCS and KMHC Offer Congratulations on Innovation Award

JOINT PRESS RELEASE

KSCS AND KMHC OFFER CONGRATULATIONS ON INNOVATION AWARD

(Kahnawake – October 28, 2021) Kahnawake Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services (KSCS) and the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre (KMHC) wish to congratulate KSCS Prevention Worker Frankie Massicotte and KMHC Nutritionist Chantal Haddad on being awarded the Crush Innovation Prize 2020-2021 from the Quebec Order of Dietitians and Nutritionists.

Their collaborative online cooking show, “What’s for Lunch?” was voted the winner in the newly created Crush Innovation category, which recognizes the most creative and innovative ways of offering services during the pandemic. “What’s for Lunch?” has been running for over a year and uses Facebook Live to demonstrate not only how to prepare a meal from start to finish, but they also provide ingredients to those who pre-register; think Rachel Ray meets Hello Fresh. “We couldn’t be more proud of our Prevention Staff, who turned a roadblock into an opportunity,” said KSCS Executive Director Derek Montour. “We have always encouraged our staff to look for new and innovative ways to reach the community, and in this case Frankie, along with our partner Chantal from KMHC, knocked it out of the park,” he went on to say.

"Chantal's work has been stellar on this project, and KMHC is absolutely proud of her accomplishment alongside Frankie on winning this award," says Lisa Westaway, Executive Director of KMHC "the ingenuity of our staff never ceases to amaze, and we will always encourage our staff to continue to innovate"

The Order’s Prize of Distinction winners, who are normally announced at the Order’s annual gala, were named via Facebook Live event on October 21, 2021.
