KSCS Drama Project Suspends Operations

Kahnawake – Wednesday, September 4, 2013 it is with great regret that KSCS had to suspend the operations of its Drama Project effective immediately. We are hopeful that the KSCS Drama Project will resume operations within 120 days.

During this time KSCS will be clarifying the role/s, responsibilities and lines of accountability between the KSCS Drama Project and the Turtle Island Volunteer Fundraising Committee.  In addition KSCS will conduct an evaluation to determine how effective the KSCS Drama Project is in addressing mental health in Kahnawake.

Mental health was identified as one of Kahnawake’s health problem areas identified in the Kahnawake Community Health Plan (CHP) Health Transferred Programs 2012 – 2022.

The Brighter Futures Project is designated as a major funding source to address mental health in Kahnawake and Brighter Futures is funding the KSCS Drama Project so it make sense to align the project to the funding source.

Once complete the KSCS Drama Project will be in a better position to resume quality programming to the youth in Kahnawake.
