KSCS OPENS EMERGENCY ISOLATION SHELTER

(Kahnawake – April 3, 2020 The Kahnawake COVID-19 Task Force has directed Kahnawake Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services (KSCS) to open an Emergency Isolation Shelter (EIS) in the community in order to further mitigate and prevent the possible transmission of the Covid-19 virus.

The shelter is specific to:
• Individuals who have recently travelled and are returning to Kahnawake;
• Health Care workers (Essential Services) who do not want to risk getting infected by their family members and thereby expose their patients or co-workers;
• Health Care workers (Essential Services) who do not want to risk being infected at work and thereby expose their family members.

KSCS is presently pulling together the team that will be responsible for intake, registration and identification methods and other important jobs to ensure everyone’s continued safety.

Individuals falling into the categories above may call KSCS at 450 632-6880 and ask for the Isolation Shelter Intake Worker Monday Through Friday during regular business hours. For emergency requests after hours please call the Kahnawake Peacekeepers at 450 632-6505 and ask to speak with the After Hours Response Worker.
