Kahnawake – January 8, 2021 – Kahnawake Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services understands everyone in the community may be experiencing some form/s of psychosocial difficulties during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many are feeling the pressures of the lock down, isolation from family, friends and sometimes feeling alone. Some community members may be experiencing loss and grief. This pandemic is challenging everyone, no one is spared the hardships we are all exposed to.

These are hard times in Kahnawake, harder for you and for I as we continue our journey as Haudenosaunee peoples traveling on turtle island. KSCS urges everyone who is feeling mental health issues to speak with someone, whether a family or friend, Peacekeeper or other health professional.

Community can contact KSCS reception at 450-632-6880 for support services during the hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm. Afterhours Response Services can be accessed after hours between 4:30pm – 8:30am, on weekends and on holidays by calling the Kahnawake Peacekeepers at 450-632-6505 and asking to speak with an Afterhours Response Worker.
