Water quality concerns for residents of the “South Texas” area.
Kahnawake - December 19, 2013 - The recent disclosure of an alleged illegal dump site in the South Texas area has raised concerns over the quality of the drinking water in the area. We would like to reassure the community that the Kahnawake Environmental Health Services has been involved and ground water samples have been collected.
Although we are awaiting the complete chemical analysis results from our contracted laboratory, results from bacteriological samples indicate NO bacteria in the samples collected. If the complete chemical analysis raises any concern, we will contact the affected homes immediately.
Homes on the town system are tested weekly for bacteria and quarterly for complete chemical analysis and the most recent results indicate all parameters tested for are within acceptable limits.
