Tapping - Emotional Freedom Techniques for Self-Care

Presenter: Kelly Roughton, AAMET Level II EFT Practitioner, National Guild of Hypnotists, C.H., CCF Life Coach

Objectives:

  • Introduction of technique, i.e. acupressure points, simple wording and rating system
  • Describe it’s benefits and how to use for self-care (have participants apply the technique)
  • Introduce a simple effective visualization that can be used.

Wellness Break - Love Yourself Day

Hey busy Parents! Take a break, come meet our new parenting workers Ashley and Frankie!  A full day of wellness is waiting for you at the Family and Wellness Center on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Lunch will be served at Noon. Information session on services will be given throughout the day.

Wellness activities will include:

Massages

Reiki

Gel nails

Make up tutorials and basic skin care by a Mary Kay representative 1:00 – 2:00 PM

Hair (cuts & styles only)

Essential oils table (Lotus & Sage)

Clinical Trials as a Roadmap to Improved Healthcare

Presenter: Dr. Angela Genge, MD, FRCP (c),  Director of the Clinical Research Unit, Director of the ALS Clinic, Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital (MNI).

Objectives:

  • To explain clinical trials and the details of the processes involved in being a clinical trial participant.
  • To introduce the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital, a model of tertiary care.
  • To explain the role of the Clinical Research Unit at MNI and facilitate communication between Kahnawà:ke and the MNI Clinical Research Unit.

Bear Clan Mother Louise McDonald and Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council Chief Beverly Cook wil be sharing the Mohawk creation story from a woman's point of view.

The presentation will explore some of the science behind conception and the connection to our creation story.

Community Dinner

Community DInner

Á:se Tahonatehiaróntie (The New Generation) Teen Group is hosting a free community dinner for all Kahnawa'kehró:non. The idea is to gather people in the community to share a meal together, to make connections, and to strengthen family values. There will be activities for the whole family!

The dinner will include chicken and dumplings, Indian tacos, and other traditional-type foods.

  • Where: Kahnawà:ke Youth Center
  • When: Sunday, December 10, 2017

Admission is FREE (with a donation of a non-perishable food item)

Holiday Parade

Old Malone Highway, near the tunnel
Description: 

Kahnawà:ke Holiday Parade

Parade begins at 11:00 AM, beginning at the tunnel on Old Malone highway.

There is no cost to register your group or float for the parade. Registration forms are available at KSCS, 2nd floor, Services Complex (above the bank). A prize will be given to the most original family float.

The deadline to register your float is Friday, December 15, 2017.

Activities will take place after the parade at Karonhianonhnha Tsi Ionterihwaienstahkwa School. Please park at the back of the school.

Santa will be there, so bring your own camera and take your picture with him! There will also be free hot chocolate and donuts after the parade.

Please bring canned or non-perishable food items for the Kahnawà:ke Food Baskets.
