KSCS PARTNERS WITH SACRED ROOTS PRODUCTION TO INCREASE AWARENESS CONCERNING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

Kahnawake – July 26, 2016, Kahnawake Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services (KSCS) in conjunction with Sacred Roots Production ® will present an eighty-five (85) minute culturally adapted production of Colleen Murphy’s award winning play “Pig Girl”.

 

The play draws on some facts of the 2010 serial killer Robert Pickton’s horrific actions.  The production will be used as a vehicle to bring awareness about violence against women to Kahnawa’kehró:non and will be used as an opportunity to outreach within the community.

 

After the play KSCS will host an open dialogue with the audience to discuss issues of violence against women.  As well promote the programs and services available to Kahnawa’kehró:non. KSCS will have skilled individuals who can assist anyone who may become upset emotionally.

 

The event is free and open to everyone 16 year of age and over.  There will be two (2) shows, Friday and Saturday August 26 & 27 at the Knights of Columbus Hall Kahnawake.  Doors open at 5:00PM show time 6:00PM sharp for both evenings.
