Kahnawake Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services hosts Tehontatró:ris every month to hear ideas, to share information and knowledge that is pertinent to the community’s health and well being. We would like to invite you to join us this month for:

GRIS Montreal – the LGBTQ Experience from a Personal Perspective

Presenter(s): Sylvie Hamel and Vreg Parpaniam. GRIS Montreal, which stands for research and social intervention group is a non-profit, community-run organization that works towards demystifying homosexuality and bisexuality by offering the personal testimonies of LGBTQ facilitators.

Objectives:

  • To provide knowledge on how to best support a young person who is LGBTQ in a personal and professional way.
  • Through personal experience, the presenters will relay their story and answer questions from parents and professionals in order to foster understanding on the needs of LGBTQ youth.

As part of the Kahnawà:ke Youth Center's Winter Carnival, KSCS is hosting the 

LIP SYNC BATTLE

Register by Feburary 8, 2019. Contact Karina Peterson at 450-635-8089.

Registtration packages can be picked up at the KSCS main building with a $25 deposit. Categories include: Kids, General, Groups, and Family.

  • $500 cash prize
  • Door prizes
  • Canteen fundraiser

Music provided by DJ Poptart and DJ Sky.
