Kahnawake Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services hosts Tehontatró:risevery month to hear ideas, to share information and knowledge that is pertinent to the community’s health and well being. We would like to invite you to join us this month for: Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACA)

Objective: To convey the hope that there is recovery from the effects of having been raised in a dysfunctional home.

Holidays and Mental Wellness

The holidays can be a time of joy, but for some who may be dealing with trauma, stress or grief, it may be difficult. Multigenerational trauma, grief, abuse and mental illness may be at the core of the issues we see in our community around addictions and violence. Our community is connected and ones’ trauma can affect us all. With respect to our families, children, elders and community members, can we all have a safe and happy holiday...

KSCS Closing Today at 2:00, Emergency Services Available

KSCS wishes to inform the community that our offices are closing at 2:00 PM today. Emergency services including Youth Protection and Psychological Services will remain available by calling the Kahnawake Peacekeepers at 450-632-6505 and asking to speak with the After Hours Response Worker. Vulnerable community members, including elders and community members with special needs, who are in need of shelter or food, are welcome to contact the Turtle Bay Elders Lodge at 450-632-5499 for support.

Demystifying Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia

KSCS in collaboration with the Alzheimer Society Suroît will be hosting a free English information session for Kahnawa’kehró:non.

Helpers Coming Together

The community is invited to come to the Knights of Columbus to learn about the programs and services available to community members. It's also a chance to network , update, and recruit workers. There will be booths and information by KSCS, Onen'to:kon, Akwesasne's Kanonhkwat'sheri:io, Saint Luc, Detox/CHUM, Wanaki, Camillus Centre, AMI-Quebec, Benbowopka, and more! Mike Scott brings his Sober is Sexy talk back by popular demand at 6:00 p.m.
